{"id":1015,"date":"2014-11-22T11:25:17","date_gmt":"2014-11-22T11:25:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/st-peters.aberdeen.sch.uk\/?p=1015"},"modified":"2014-11-22T11:25:58","modified_gmt":"2014-11-22T11:25:58","slug":"primary-2-november-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/st-peters.aberdeen.sch.uk\/?p=1015","title":{"rendered":"Primary 2 &#8211; November News!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Primary two have been learning lots this term!<\/p>\n<p>To celebrate Harvest, we decorated scarecrows with collage paper and made an autumnal background using red, yellow and orange paint. \u00a0We will be displaying these in the hall.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/_d_improd_\/IMG_0227_f_improf_301x301.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"301\" height=\"301\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Our class novel is \u00a0&#8216;The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark&#8217; and we decided we would like to learn more about owls. \u00a0You can watch a Youtube video of the story by following <a title=\"Jackanory 'The Owl who was afraid of the dark'\" href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Wx1bJYTOgdg\">this link.<\/a> We are loving this topic and have learned lots about different Diurnal and Nocturnal animals. Diurnal animals are awake in the daytime and sleep at night. Nocturnal animals sleep during the day and feed and move around during the night.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/_d_improd_\/IMG_0225_f_improf_242x306.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"242\" height=\"306\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We sorted animals into Nocturnal and Diurnal animals.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/_d_improd_\/IMG_0224_f_improf_276x276.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"276\" height=\"276\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We created a wall display and made a large &#8216;Plop&#8217; for our wall using feathers, paint and furry felt material so that it feels like a real owl.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/_d_improd_\/IMG_02261_f_improf_334x334.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"334\" height=\"334\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We have been learning\u00a0about food chains and we were able to make our own food chain.<\/p>\n<p>This Friday we went to ASV for &#8216;Funfit&#8217;. \u00a0It was fantastic fun and we were learning lots of different ways to keep fit.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/st-peters.aberdeen.sch.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/P2-Funfit.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/_d_improd_\/IMG_0234_f_improf_216x216.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"216\" height=\"216\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-1101\" src=\"\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/_d_improd_\/P2-Funfit-300x225_f_improf_246x188.jpg\" alt=\"P2 Funfit\" width=\"246\" height=\"188\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/_d_improd_\/IMG_0232_f_improf_247x247.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"247\" height=\"247\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Every second Thursday afternoon (weather permitting) Primary 2 will be going to Tillydrone library. \u00a0If any parent or carer would like to come, please let me know. \u00a0Our next visit is planned for Thursday \u00a027th November.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you for all of your help with the children&#8217;s homework.<\/p>\n<p>Miss White and Primary 2<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Primary two have been learning lots this term!
