Doric Poetry<\/strong><\/p>\n

During January, we\u00a0 learned some Doric poems and enjoyed showcasing our poem \u2018Jack and The Three Wishes\u2019 by Grace in our assembly.<\/span><\/p>\n

Chinese New Year<\/strong><\/p>\n

We took part in designing a poster for the Chinese New Year. Agnes and Nickolas won the design competition from our class. They got goody bags. Maia and three HanBan teachers taught us about the Chinese music and calligraphy.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our Outdoor Learning<\/strong><\/p>\n

We went to Brig o\u2019 Balgownie on the 12th February and learned about the bridge. Mrs Jadid told us that the bridge was more than six hundred years old. We played on the bridge pretending we were defending it.<\/span><\/p>\n

RE<\/strong><\/p>\n

With Mr Horton, we learned about Candlemas or the Feast of the Presentation of Jesus at the Temple.\u00a0 We also learned that Lent begins on Ash Wednesday.<\/span><\/p>\n

Reading<\/strong><\/p>\n

We are enjoying reading our Project X books and choosing our Accelerated Reader books for extera reading activities. We take the books home and, after reading them, we do a quiz.<\/span><\/p>\n

For our Reflective Reading, we love reading \u2018The Magic Carpet Slippers\u2019 by Dick King-Smith. We are reading the book very carefully and we are answering lots of questions about the book and doing lots of follow up activities.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We have decorated our classroom door using the illustration of the front cover.<\/span><\/p>\n

Maths<\/strong><\/p>\n

We are learning about money and we can solve problems using money. We are getting better at working out special offers when shopping. Some of us were very good at spotting special offers at the weekend when we were shopping with our families. We also continue to learn our times tables and link them to division.<\/span><\/p>\n

Health and Wellbeing<\/strong><\/p>\n

PE (Basketball)<\/strong><\/p>\n

We have been learning how to work as a team, dribble on the move, different kinds of passes and how to mark other players.<\/span><\/p>\n

We also enjoyed two sessions of Table tennis with Max from ASV.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Healthy eating<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mrs O\u2019Connell has been teaching us about healthy eating. We made posters about how to handle food and\u00a0 also we learned a lot about food safety. Then we planned and made our own healthy sandwiches. They were very tasty!<\/span><\/p>\n
