Welcome to Primary 3!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

All learners have settled in very well to their new class. We have had a very busy first term, here is what we have been learning so far. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Literacy <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In literacy, we have been learning how to write letters and instructions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have completed reflective reading activities, we read a story relating to our emotions or how we can show kindness and complete an activity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each week we learn a new phonics sound and complete activities relating to this. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Numeracy <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In numeracy, we have been learning about number and shape. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In number we have learned how to partition numbers, complete addition and subtraction calculations and looked at number patterns. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In shape we have been learning about 2D and their properties. Soon we will be learning about 3D shapes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Health and Well Being <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are very lucky to have two RADS sessions with Calum each week, we have been working on our balance and controlling the ball. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have also been learning dance in PE with Miss Birnie. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In class we have been learning about our emotions, relating this to the movie Inside Out. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other Curricular Areas<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have been working hard in all other curricular areas too. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mrs Jadid teaches us science and technologies each Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

Miss Birnie and Miss Bennett work together to teach RE. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Miss Hamilton teaches us singing, we have learned lots of new songs and fun singing games. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our topic this term is ‘People Who Help Us’ – so far we have thought about people at home and in school who help us, as well as the police. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We enjoying showing our creativity in art lessons. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
