Primary 1\/2 have settled very well into their new class. The P2’s have been very responsible at showing the P1’s the routines of school. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For our IDL this term we are learning about the Rights of the Child. We showed our learning in our writing lesson last week when we wrote about two rights that we feel are very important. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are going to be focusing our learning around the Right to Play. We are looking forward to sharing our play projects with some of the other children in the school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maths<\/strong>
In maths the P2 children have been learning about numbers to 100. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Primary 1 we have been learning about numbers to 10. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Literacy.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are enjoying learning to read in our reading groups every day. We have been using the skills that we learn in our reading lessons to help us to write. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Primary 1 we have been learning the sounds m, a, s, d, t, i, n, p and g. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Art<\/strong>.
In art we are learning about the artist Van Gogh. This week we used oil pastels to create our own representations of his Sunflowers painting. We will be learning about some of his other famous paintings, and will continue to develop our art skills through creating our own versions of these paintings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mass<\/strong>
We have been busy preparing for our back to school Mass next Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Harvest festival.<\/strong>
Next week we are having our annual Harvest festival when we collect food for local food banks. We will be collecting food in school from Monday, ready for our Harvest festival on Friday 16th September. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Active Adventure day. <\/strong>
Our next Active Adventure day will be on Friday 16th September. Children can come to school dressed in sports clothes on this day.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
