Our Learning Context for Myths and Legends (Traditional Tales)

Literacy <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This term we are continuing to use Read Write Inc to support with reading and writing. Our writing is linked with our IDL topic of Traditional Tales and we have been learning to continue a story, using our own ideas. We will also be writing invitations to families to attend our Story Session day and Nativity performance. Later on in the term, we will be learning how to write an acrostic poem. We have also been completing our Reading Passports each week, as we look at more fairytales. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Numeracy <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This term we are learning to use addition and subtraction to solve problems. Later on in the term we will be learning about time. To help us with addition and subtraction concepts we have been using Numicon, concrete materials and playing games. We have also been challenging ourselves by playing interactive games on the whiteboard. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Expressive Arts <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Drama is our expressive arts focus this term. We have been retelling the Traditional Tales we have been looking at in class. Working in groups we have been using props, expression and voices to make our performances exciting! We used Jack and the Beanstalk puppet characters to put on our own shows of the fairytale to our classmates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Book Week 2022<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We had lots of fun exploring the stories in our Book Bug Bags and completed some great work after reading ‘Out of Nowhere’ and ‘The Perfect Fit’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
