Mrs Kelman works with three leadership groups on a weekly basis, giving each member the chance to build communication, teamwork, responsibility and decision making skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/st-peters.aberdeen.sch.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/image-10.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"120\" height=\"120\" src=\"https:\/\/st-peters.aberdeen.sch.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/image-10.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18457\" style=\"width:120px;height:auto\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Pupil Council:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our pupil council representatives were voted by their peers. Every class had an election where they voted for a reliable, trustworthy pupil to act on their behalf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our work so far:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We have created posters for the dinner hall, reminding every pupil about our rules when eating lunch and linking them to our school values!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We created anti-bullying posters for Anti-bullying Week.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We have introduced ourselves at assembly, encouraging anyone to come to us with concerns or suggestions on how we can make our school even better<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We monitor and maintain our \u2018Pupil Council Visitor Questionnaire\u2019 These questionnaires tell us how visitors feel about coming to our school. They let us know if we are welcoming, friendly and following our school values!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/st-peters.aberdeen.sch.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/image-11.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"190\" height=\"180\" src=\"https:\/\/st-peters.aberdeen.sch.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/image-11.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18458\" style=\"width:144px;height:auto\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Learning Council:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our learning council representatives were selected by class teachers. There is a learning council member from each class and they regularly meet to discuss learning and teaching. They are encouraged to bring ideas from their classmates on our learning experiences and resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our work so far:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>This term we have created IDL evaluation forms for each class. We do this to give you the opportunity to share your thoughts on your learning.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We have planned and awarded Learner of the Month for September and have also planned Learner of the Month for November! Learner of the month is given to one person from each class who has been displaying one of St. Peter\u2019s skills well.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>They receive a certificate for excelling in the chosen skill the class teacher and learning council representative chose.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We have spoken in assembly about the importance of looking after our resources.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/st-peters.aberdeen.sch.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/image-12.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"324\" height=\"84\" src=\"https:\/\/st-peters.aberdeen.sch.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/image-12.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18459\" srcset=\"https:\/\/st-peters.aberdeen.sch.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/image-12.png 324w, https:\/\/st-peters.aberdeen.sch.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/image-12-300x78.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 324px) 100vw, 324px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Junior Road Safety Officers:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Junior Road Safety Officers consist of 8 committed members from P6 and P7.&nbsp; It is their mission to promote road safety in our school, keeping our pupils safe around our school and local community!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our Work So Far:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Last week it was Road Safety Awareness Week. We made it our mission to let our parents and carers know that they need to follow the rules to keep you safe!\u00a0We patrolled the kerbside, handing out informative flyers and displaying our posters!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We have launched our \u2018Be Bright Be Seen Competition\u2019<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We have planned and delivered some Road Safety Games to classes during Active Adventure Day!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We have many opportunities to promote leadership in our school.
