Numeracy:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This term we will be looking at number and number process. We will begin looking at place value and how to correctly partition numbers. We will then move on to estimating and rounding to the nearest 10, 100 and 1000 up to and within 6 digit numbers. We will look at multiplying and diving by 10s, 100s and 1000s. Finally, we will look at addition and subtraction which will take us into term 2. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Literacy:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This year we are continuing the CYPIC approach to writing. Our first focus is Vocabulary with thoughts and feelings, while also looking at punctuation. Through CYPIC we will be focussing on many different genres of text, which will like through our IDL topics. Our reflective reading lessons will focus on different types of text and media. We will continue to focus on spelling and reading fluency through using Big Cat. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
IDL:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This term we will begin with our \u2018We Belong\u2019 topic where we will look at our place in the world and what makes us unique. This will also help us look at the UNCRC in more depth and have an understanding of the rights of a child. We will then move onto \u2018Inventors and Inventions\u2019 where we will look at modern day inventions and how they influence our lives today. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Other Information:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We will continue our sports coaching on a Monday with Next Level Foundation and PE session on a Thursday, please ensure you wear appropriate footwear. Mrs Mbarki will take the class on Monday for Science and Thursday for Health and Wellbeing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
