However, the girls and boys have been very lucky, taking part in a range of very exciting activities.<\/p>\n<p>We really enjoyed our sessions with the RGU sports coaching team. We completed\u00a0sessions on basketball, badminton, indoor athletics and tennis. We really enjoyed exploring the different skills necessary for each sport. We also learned about the importance of exercise and nutrients in our daily lives. We looked forward to these sessions every week and are very thankful to have been given the opportunity to take part.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" aligncenter\" src=\"\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/_d_improd_\/IMG_1769_f_improf_354x355.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"354\" height=\"355\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" aligncenter\" src=\"\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/_d_improd_\/IMG_1771_f_improf_341x342.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"341\" height=\"342\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For our project this term, we have exploring the topic of weather. So far, we have been looking at snow, clouds and tornadoes. At home, the children are working on \u201cextreme weather\u201d projects. Everyone seems to be enjoying doing research on these intense weather conditions and we look forward to the pupils presenting their findings in a few weeks\u2019 time.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" aligncenter\" src=\"\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/_d_improd_\/IMG_1781_f_improf_350x350.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"350\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" aligncenter\" src=\"\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/_d_improd_\/IMG_1782_f_improf_356x357.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"356\" height=\"357\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Primary 6 and 7 classes were visited by some teaching\u00a0students from the University of Aberdeen. The students organised a drama workshop based on the pupils\u2019 hopes and fears for the year ahead. Both classes really enjoyed this afternoon and are now looking forward to what the next school year has in\u00a0store\u00a0for them.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" aligncenter\" src=\"\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/_d_improd_\/IMG_1775_f_improf_353x353.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"353\" height=\"353\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We had great fun at the Aberdeen Sports Village this week when we were playing\u00a0touch rugby. We were all very enthusiastic about learning new skills and techniques. As you can probably tell, the boys and girls in Primary 6 are an active bunch!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" aligncenter\" src=\"\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/_d_improd_\/IMG_1787_f_improf_360x360.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"360\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In the coming weeks, we are excited about our involvement with the Scottish Opera in the production of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scilt.org.uk\/TheHappyEmperorandotherstories\/WarriorsTheEmperorsIncredibleArmy\/tabid\/4920\/Default.aspx\">\u201cWarriors: The Emperor&#8217;s Incredible Army!\u201d <\/a>We have been becoming familiar with the songs and the story behind the production and cannot wait to be a part of it.<\/p>\n<p>Just a reminder that next week is Health Week and the boys and girls have come up with some excellent ideas. On Friday, May 22<sup>nd<\/sup>, we will have a non uniform day in aid of the terrible tragedy in Nepal.
