<\/a><\/p>\nWhen learning about “the journey of a river,” the children matched labels to the correct part of the river and then worked very well in their groups to create a class river for the wall.<\/p>\n
We went on a river walk. We started at Seaton Park and followed the path of the river, over the Brig O’ Balgownie and down to the mouth of the Don. The children made sketches of various parts of the river during the walk.<\/p>\n We have been learning about the importance of clean water and how our water is purified to make it safe for drinking<\/p>\n To conclude last term’s project the\u00a0children visited the Gordon Highlanders museum. They enjoyed learning about the Gordon Highlanders and trying on the uniforms.<\/p>\n The children had a wonderful time visiting the new Queensferry crossing. They learned lots about the three bridges over the Forth.\u00a0The children have been learning about suspension, cantilever and cable-stayed bridges and were pleased to see examples of these from the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries. They learned a lot about the types of jobs involved in constructing the bridge and about the importance of Personal Protective Equipment.<\/p>\n Maths<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<\/a>\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/a><\/p>\n<\/a> <\/a> <\/a> <\/a> <\/a> <\/a> <\/a><\/p>\n
\nIn maths, we have been improving our information handling skills. We have also been learning about shape through creating our own nets and skeletal models of shapes. Through work on angles, we are able to identify and name angles along with talking about direction using both degrees and compass points.Next week we will be looking at lines of symmetry before moving on to a unit about measure.<\/p>\n
