They are making friends and learning the routines of the school.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Phonics<\/strong><br \/>\nThis week we started to learn our first sounds. We have been learning about the letter &#8220;a&#8221; and the letter &#8220;t&#8221;. You could play a game of\u00a0 &#8216;I spy&#8217; at home using these sounds. We have been developing our listening and talking skills by sharing the special holiday bags that we brought to school in August.<\/p>\n<p>This week we have been learning to identify and name our body parts.<\/p>\n<p>Next week we will be learning about what it takes to be a good friend and about our different emotions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Forward dates.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On Friday 29th September, Primary O<a href=\"http:\/\/st-peters.aberdeen.sch.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/cancer-morning-logo.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-7764\" src=\"http:\/\/st-peters.aberdeen.sch.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/cancer-morning-logo.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"191\" height=\"114\" \/><\/a>ne will be holding a coffee morning in aid of the Macmillan Cancer charity. Please come along at 9.30am, have a cup of tea or coffee and a cake, and help us to raise money for this important charity.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday 13th October at 9.30 we will be going on a &#8220;senses&#8221; walk to the Cruickshank Botanic Garden at Aberdeen University. Our Primary 6\/7 Blue buddies will be helping us to think about what we can hear, see, smell and touch as we go on our walk. Children will need to dress appropriately in jackets and waterproof shoes or boots. If you would be available to help us on the trip, please speak to Miss MacDonald.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you for your help in supporting your children to complete tasks at home to support their learning.
