Primary 4 news

As the last few weeks of Primary 4 approaches, here is a look back at some of the learning Primary 4 have been doing this term!

The Primary 4’s made a fantastic display showing our local area. Our topic this term is “Our city” and we have really enjoyed learning about our beautiful city. The children are working very hard on their personal projects and we look forward to showcasing them in the coming weeks.

Preparations are well under way for our First Holy Communions! The Primary 4 pupils have been working hard on learning their hymns and reciting the prayers. We are all really looking forward to this celebration.

Our class were very lucky to get the chance to take part in the “Aberdeen Youth Games” at the A.S.V. We were very lucky with the weather and spent the whole day outdoors, taking part in a range of different activities such as athletics, rugby and basketball! We even got a chance to meet the Olympic rower Katherine Grainger.  We had a wonderful day!

Primary 4 had great fun at Sports Day! We competed in a number of races and events and had a great time earning points for our houses; St Andrews, St Machar, Elphinstone and Kings.

Last Thursday, we started off the day in the Primary 4 classroom but, before long, we found ourselves in Bilbo Baggins’ front room! M & M productions put on an excellent performance of “The Hobbit”. We used this as inspiration for our literacy lessons, doing some prediction tasks and recounts of the story.

As part of Health Week, we got a chance to taste different types of fruit and vegetables!
