Term 4 news

It’s hard to believe we are in our last few weeks of Primary 5 and what a term it has been!

Our natural world

This term, the whole school have been learning about “Our Natural World”. Primary 5 are focusing on the 7 Natural Wonders of the World. With Mrs Morrison, we were learning about the Great Barrier Reef as a habitat. To support our learning, we went on a trip to Macduff Aquarium to learn about how to protect these natural habitats and we had such a great time!

Maths

With Mrs Morrison, we had been learning all about measure. We took part in lots of active learning, applying our skills in real life situations.

Literacy

As part of Mayfest, we went to Kings College to meet the author of “Rebel Cats” and “Rebel Dogs”, Kimberlie Hamilton. It was amazing to meet her and to hear her telling some of her favourite stories based on real life animals. We look forward to reading some of her work as a class.

Health and wellbeing

We are delighted to have Jennifer back for Relax Kids. This term we are working on building our confidence through lots of different fun-filled activities.

Health Week

Health Week is in full swing and we are having such good fun. To start the week, we had Sports Day in the ASV, taking part in relays, hurdles and obstacle courses along with the high jump and sack race. There were a lot of winners in Primary 5!

All learning this week is based around the topic of health. We have been taking lots of fitness breaks throughout the day. We even did some spelling relays in class!
