Welcome to Primary 7

Welcome to Primary 7! 

The boys and girls have done a great job at settling into their new class. We have had a busy few weeks. Here is what we have been learning: 

Literacy 

In literacy, we have been writing letters to our future selves as part of a time capsule. We plan to open these at the end of Primary 7. We have also been linking our writing to our contexts of learning and writing an imaginative recount about an MSP’S first day on the job.

We enjoy taking some time each day to read some of our accelerated reader books. 

Maths

We are currently working through our whole number topic. So far, we have covered estimating and rounding, place value and negative numbers. 

Health and wellbeing

We are delighted to be working with Callum in RADS  every Monday, focusing on speed and agility. We also have been learning about fitness in PE with Miss McLoughlin.

We have also created our class charter linked to the UNCRC. 

Other curricular areas.

We have been working on our class assembly based on “The Story of Creation” and cannot wait to showcase this on Friday. We have all joined a pupil voice group and look forward to putting our great ideas into action. 

Things to look forward to:

On Thursday, 30th of September, we will be hosting a Macmillan coffee morning with our Primary 1 buddies. We hope to raise money for the Macmillan Cancer Support charity. More information to follow.
