Welcome to Term 4!
We are starting a new topic this term- The Silver city by the sea. We will be learning what it means for Aberdeen to be located by the North Sea. We will also learn in more depth about the rivers that flow through Aberdeen.
For our IDL we will be visiting the Maritime Museum on the 4th of June.
In Maths we will be focusing on applying our knowledge of number to solve real life problems.
We will also be learning about capacity and length. We will learn the metrics of capacity and length. We will practise converting ml to litres and cm to meters. We will be measuring distances and liquids. We may even do some baking J
In PE we will continue to have our RADS sessions on Mondays and we will have swimming lessons every Thursday. Our Swimming lessons will take place in the Bridge of Don Swimming pool at 11.15-12.00.
We will also be enjoying our Active Adventure days and the Sports Day that will take place in Aberdeen Sports Village in June.
In writing we will focus on writing diary entries about our Spring break, leaflets advertising Maritime Museum , posters telling people more about the school’s Sports Day and letters to the new teacher towards the end of the term.
In Reflective Reading we will continue to be Book Detectives. We will be creating mind maps for our reading books. We will be looking for tricky or interesting words. We will be compering the characters and thinking what we would change in our books if we could.
In Music we will be learning our songs for the Bigger sing performance. We are very lucky this term and we will be taking part in the Bigger Sing project that will be taking place in Duthie Park in May. More details still to come.
Homework will be shared via Google classroom on Monday and is due back by Friday.
