End of Term 1 in P4/5
Literacy: We have completed lots of taught writing pieces, including letters, instructions, newspaper articles and recounts. This Term we began the CYPIC writing scheme, focusing on a different skill each time. We recently reached the 100% club!
The class has also done so well with their spelling and reading, especially using their new Accelerated Reader programme.
Numeracy: Place value, rounding, greater than and less than – whole number is complete for Term 1! We worked really well in teams and independently, using the Maths Mastery approach.
IDL: Our first context “We Are Linguists” allowed us to learn more about France and the French language. We wrote to a Parisian pen pal, made informative leaflets and created art in the style of Georges Seurat.
Our second context, “Our Future World”, is ongoing. So far we have designed future schools on posters and created slideshows to showcase these. We have also begun learning about coding, creating our own for friends to crack! We look forward to more of this in Term 2.
I would also like to take this opportunity to say thank you to the P4/5 pupils for being such a wonderful class, and I wish them all the luck for the rest of the school year with their new teacher.
