Merry Christmas from P3
Primary three worked very hard this term during our “World of work” context to prepare for the Nativity performance. The children took their job roles as “Actors” very seriously and put on an impressive show for the parents. They learned lines, learned the words and actions for songs and learned to act on the stage. I was very proud of each and every Primary three on their amazing performance.
Literacy.
This term the children have been learning to write newspapers in the functional writing block. In the personal writing block, the children have been writing about their hopes for dream jobs and have reflected on their learning within the Nativity.
After the Christmas holidays, the children will first take on a block of imaginative writing, related to our “Cultural Scotland” context for learning. During term 3 they will also participate in functional and personal writing blocks.
Maths
The children have been learning about addition and subtraction this term. They have also been learning about the properties of 2D and 3D shape.
After Christmas, P3 will begin with a block of learning about time. In their stand-alone maths topic they will investigate angles and symmetry.
Health and Wellbeing.
The children continue to have weekly Health and Wellbeing lessons with Mrs Jadid.
Recently in P.E., the children have been developing their skills in hockey.
After Christmas, the children will engage in ceilidh dancing lessons within their P.E. lessons.
Take a look at some of our learning this past term.
Merry Christmas
