P1/2 – What We Will Be Doing In March!

P1/2 have been working very hard and we cannot believe that we are halfway through Term 3!

Here is a brief overview of what the children will be doing during the next three or four weeks!

Phonics:

P1 children will be learning the sounds ‘ng’ and wh as well as consolidating our previous phonemes. New spelling words will be with   us   so   old   do   going

P2 children will be learning the soundsi-e‘, ‘o-e‘ and ‘a-e. They will also be consolidating our previous phonemes. New spelling words will be  – five   time   life   line   home   more  school   Mrs.   take  gave cold   don’t

Mathematics:

Over the next few weeks the children will be learning about:

time – o’clock telling the time in whole hours on analogue clocks and reading digital clocks.

division – sharing equally.

Our topic will continue to be transport. The children will be making their own papier mache balloons. If you have any spare newspapers, they will be gratefully received!

RE – We will be learning more about Lent which will lead us to the Easter Story.

Mrs Black brought in an old ploughing medal to show the children. Horses were one of the first forms of transport!

The children are learning Mandarin and enjoy their active lessons every Tuesday.
