Our butterfly journey
A few weeks ago we received 10 caterpillars to look after. It was our job to make sure they were safe and able to grow.
We kept a close eye on them, and recorded any changes we noticed in our caterpillar diaries.
We watched them create a cocoon to live in for the next stage of their metamorphosis.
We then transferred them to the net.
We made sure they had fruit and sugar water.
We were then amazed to see them transform into butterflies.
We have sequenced the life cycle of a butterfly.
We also went into the garden to release the butterflies into the wild.
