P2 Red – Baking Scottish Oatcakes

As part of our topic, Primary 2 Red have been learning all about historical Scotland. We have been exploring lots of items we have found in an old suitcase which was up in “Granny’s Attic”. This week we found a book for traditional Scottish recipes. Inside the book, Granny had labelled her favourite recipe…oatcakes!

Using our reading skills,  knowledge of measurement and co-operative learning, we worked together to bake the oatcakes. We even got to taste them at snack time. We have written out our recipes and are bringing them home to share with our families.
