P1/2 Class News
P1/2 News
We have enjoyed getting to know each other and have discussed our class routines and school rules.
There are 17 Primary 2 pupils in our class and 7 Primary 1 pupils. We have all become great friends.
Language:
We are following the ‘Jolly Phonics’ programme and our primary 1 children have been learning two new sounds and three new common words a week. After three weeks they will have a week of revision.
Primary 2 pupils have been revising some of these initial sounds and will be introduced to new sounds after consolidation.
All phonics and spelling lessons are active and interesting.
Maths:
Primary 1 are learning about numbers to 10. We have been practising our number formations and are currently at number 7.
Primary 2 are consolidating their number bond knowledge and expanding their knowledge to 20.
Topic:
Our topic this term is Dinosaurs. Each table is named after a dinosaur and over the coming weeks we will be learning about these dinosaurs and other interesting facts!
Expressive Arts:
Please could children bring an apron or old shirt/jumper to protect their clothes during art lessons and messy play.
We are looking forward to our first term in P 1 /2 and will keep you regularly updated with our news and photos!
