May 2017
Many thanks to all parents for supporting the consultation process about the possibility of a new school. You can read the full Committee decision here
Although we are not getting a new school just yet, a working group has been established to work along with council officers from several departments to look at site options. Parent Council members of this group are Stephanie Brock and James Martin. The headteacher, Jo Martin, also attends meetings of the working group.
The group had its first meeting on 3rd May and will meet again every month to look at
- Resolving the issue in the short term on our current site. A ‘wish list’ of requirements was agreed and we are checking on the progress of improvements to be in place by August 2017. A report will go to the Education and Children’s Services Committee on 1st June on how the Directorate intends to alleviate short term capacity pressures at St Peter’s School.
- Options for a longer term solution on a suitable site that meets the needs of our children. An option appraisal report will be submitted to the Education and Children’s Services Committee to determine the long term future of education provision at the existing St Peter’s School.
Future meetings of the working group are planned on 6th June, 25th July and 29th August.
