May in Primary Three Blue.

Last week we were learning how to keep our teeth healthy. The dentist came to see us and primary three red and she showed us what we need to do to keep our teeth clean. We then learned more about teeth in class and created posters to show our learning.

We also did an experiment with eggs that showed us how drinks can damage our teeth.

This week we are learning about healthy eating and nutrition. We learned about different food groups and created a food pyramid for the wall.

On Monday we were learning about fractions. We went out into the playground and answered questions drawing the fractions in chalk.

On Wednesday we had a fantastic time taking part in Authors Live. The author, Alex T. Smith, told us a little bit about himself and talked to us about what inspired him to become a writer. He then read “Claude Goes for Gold” and showed us how to draw Claude the dog.

In writing we have been learning how to write using persuasive language. We have been creating adverts that link to healthy eating and nutrition. Next week we are going to animate our adverts.

We finished our last session of drama today. We have really enjoyed working with Mrs Hutton and have learned a lot about performing.

In music we have been singing ‘Mama Mia’ and learning about pulse and rhythm. We really enjoying singing the song and moving to the pulse.

For the past three weeks, we have been enjoying swimming lessons. We have been learning how to improve our confidence and skills in the water. When we get back from swimming, we enjoy snack and we play in the garden. Next week is our last week of swimming lessons.

Next week is also my last week at St Peter’s RC Primary School. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time working here and teaching the fabulous Primary Three Blues. I will miss you all and wish you all the best of luck for the future.
