Chinese New Year

Ni Hao!

We were visited today by our Mandarin teacher Peggy and four other teachers from the Confucius Institute in Aberdeen. We were taking part in lots of Chinese activities to celebrate the Year of the Pig.

We learnt how to play different games with string. We enjoyed surprising our friends with our magic string tricks!

 

We made red envelopes. These are red because red is a lucky colour in China. Often they are filled with money and given as gifts at New Year.

 

 

 

We also designed Chinese masks.

 

We liked playing with the zhuazi catching cube game. It was quite difficult.

We enjoyed learning lots about Chinese New Year!
