Christmas holiday

You will be aware from news coverage that there has been a change to the planned date of return after the Christmas holidays.

On 19th December the First Minister announced that only the children of key workers and those deemed vulnerable would return to school buildings on 6th January and that all other children and young people will enjoy an additional 4 days holiday. Therefore the new school term will not begin until Monday 11th January.

School staff will offer childcare for keyworkers and vulnerable learners on the 6th, 7th and 8th January during normal school hours.  If you are a key worker, you must apply for a placement. Further information and the application form is found here: Apply here

As the new term gets underway on the 11th January, the children of keyworkers and more vulnerable learners will be supported in school buildings to engage with their Google Classroom as the curriculum will be delivered remotely to all learners.  This approach will ensure that all children and young people have equal access to their curriculum.  This is in keeping with updated national guidance. The guidance provides details regarding the phased start to the spring term 2021.
