P1M class news.
P1M have loved reading our three special bookbug books, Arlo the lion who couldn’t sleep, Inch and Grub, and My first book of woodland animals.
We are using “My first book of Woodland animals” as part of our enterprise topic this term. We have been learning about some of the animals in the book.
Our favourite new fox fact is that when they are cold they curl up and use their tail as a scarf! We made super fox shape pictures. We used rectangles and triangles to make our fox pictures.
We learnned that badgers live in setts underground. We also learned that they are nocturnal, that means that they sleep in the day and are awake at night.
We loved finding out about what Hedgehogs like to eat. The P2’s collected some insects from the garden and let us look at them. The insects that they collected were all ones that hedgehogs like to eat; worm, forkytail, slug and slater.
We enjoyed the story “Arlo the lion who couldn’t sleep”. We listened carefully to instructions in order to draw an owl like Arlo’s friend Owl. We also imagined what we thought Arlo would dream of when he was sleeping. We drew pictures of Arlo’s dream.
Inch and Grub is a funny story about arguing cavemen. In the story Inch and Grub made tall towers, we worked together to make tall towers out of the construction materials in the class. We had to balance the towers carefully so that they didn’t fall down.
In maths we have been learning to add numbers together.
We had a super visit from the fire service. We enjoyed spraying the hose!
In R.E. we have been learning about our special school Saint, St Peter.
