October/November 2021 in Primary 7
We have had a busy few weeks since returning from the October holidays. We have welcomed our student teacher, Miss Gallacher, to our class and she, along with Mrs Kelman, are planning exciting things for us to learn this term.
Our learning this term:
Numeracy
We have been learning more about whole numbers with a focus on multiplying/dividing multiples of 10, 100, 1000 and beyond!
We are also learning about money, taking particular interest in ways to pay, budgeting, calculating profit t and loss, hire purchase and foreign exchange.
Topic
We are very excited to be learning about ‘Our World of Work.’ We are learning about jobs and careers, and have identified the skills and qualities needed for specific roles. We are very excited to be planning and organising a market in school to celebrate and share the whole school’s learning and enterprise projects! We have created our own ‘Pebble Pets’ products which we hope to sell at the market!
Literacy
We continue to participate in reading, spelling and written activities regularly. Much of our taught writing work has been linked to our topic work. We will be learning how to create advertising campaigns, information leaflets and even an advert to raise awareness of our upcoming market event!
Children In Need:
We planned and organised a fundraising day for Children In Need
Harvest Thanksgiving:
We were delighted to gather in all of the food donated from our harvest assembly. The donations were given to Instant Neighbour, who were thrilled with this gift.
