What we have been learning in Term 2

Here is just a snapshot of what P5 have been learning in term 2

Literacy

We have been linked out writing to our topic “World of Work”. We have been thinking about the skills and qualities needed for specific jobs, creating advertising posters for different jobs and completing job applications for different types of jobs. We also did interviews with parents to learn more about their world of work.

We also completed a range of different activities to explain our messages to the future, creating poems, letters and posters about “what we would like the world to be like in 2040”. These were all put into a time capsule that has been buried in Cruikshank gardens! Well done to those children who represented our school so well!

Health and Wellbeing

We have been making some delicious snacks with Mrs Jadid such as cranachan and smoothies! We have also been working on our finger knitting skills and created beautiful butterflies,

Science

We are loving our space lessons with Mrs Jadid, learning about the planets and different phases of the moon!

Topic

Alongside our world of work topic, we also created beautiful poems and pointillism poppies to celebrate Remembrance day. We also took part in a two minute silence.

Other school activities

It was so exciting to have the fire services visit with their fire truck! We even got to use their hose!

We also loved our Pudsey drive to help raise money for Children in need!
