P3 January Update

Welcome back P3! I hope you all had a lovely Christmas break and are excited to be back in school.

P3 have already been very busy this term! As you can see in the images below.

In numeracy, we are learning about time! We are learning to identifying o’clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to, as well as converting between digital and analogue clocks. We will also be developing our mental math skills and learning about angles, symmetry and transformation.

In writing, we are learning to create fact files. We have created fact files about famous Scottish Artists and Poets. We will be moving on to imaginative writing soon.

In PE, we have been learning the Scottish Country Dance – the Flying Scotsman. Next we will be developing our tennis skills. We are also very lucky to have two RADS sessions with Calum each week.

Our whole school topic this term is Scotland. For Cultural Scotland we have been learning about famous Scottish Artists and Poets, we have explored their work, created information fact files about them, and recreated our own versions of their work. We will be learning about Castles in our Historical Scotland topic.

P3 have started their preparation for Reconciliation – please check all emails and Marvellous Me messages for information relating to this.

We have lots of exciting learning opportunities and activities planned this term and look forward to sharing them with you all!
