P1R January Update

P1R have been very busy since coming back to school after the Christmas holidays. We are happy to be back and have been enjoying all our learning in school so far this term.

So far this term we have been learning numbers to 20 and beyond in Maths and also learning the days of the week. We will continue with this learning the seasons, months of the year and how to tell the time. We will also learn about Money this term too. In RE we took part in the school mass for the Feast of the Epiphany and made some pictures to show the wise men following the star to see Baby Jesus. We have also been learning about some stories from the Old Testament including creation, Noah’s Ark and about Moses.

When we have Mrs Binkowicz we have been learning about Scottish Inventors, We learned about Alexander Graham Bell who made the first phone and also John Logie Baird who invented the television and we made our own models of phones and Tv’s. We will continue to learn more over the coming weeks. Thank you for this fun learning Mrs Binkowicz.

We continue to enjoy RADS (football) sessions on Tuesdays and are learning more football and fitness skills withe Callum. We also have class PE on Monday’s where we have been learning some Scottish Ceilidh dancing and dancing for fun too.

We celebrated Robert Burns Day by coming to school wearing a touch of tartan and learned our poems and songs and some people completed some lovely Art work for the competitions set by Mr Sturrock and Mrs Bain as part of Our Cultural Scotland topic. We loved listening to the Scottish songs that were set for us and we enjoyed being brave and performing for you when you visited our classroom on the 25th January. Here are some photos from the day!
