P7 – Term 3 Update
Term 3 has passed quickly in Primary 7. We have been very busy with our learning, helping to lead activities and preparing for our Confirmation.
Numeracy – This term we have learned more about fractions, percentages and decimals and we have developed our understanding of angles, symmetry and transformation. We are familiar with compass points and can describe, follow and record directions. We have enjoyed studying and reading timetables using both the 12 and 24 hour time. We continue to develop our mental maths strategies.
Literacy – Our class novel ‘The Explorer’ is an exciting adventure book about some children who are lost in the Amazon Rainforest. We enjoy reading as a class and this novel has given us lots of opportunity to develop our reflective reading strategies!
We continue to develop our writing skills. Some examples of our writin are – diary entries, recounts, newspaper articles and imaginative stories.
Topic – We have been learning about The Highland Clearances. We have thoroughly enjoyed finding out about our Scottish history and have created our own virtual museum to showcase our learning! This can be found on our Google Classroom.
RE – We are preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation. We have also been learning about Lent and The Stations of the Cross. We have filmed our own version of The Ways of The Cross, which will be available for our younger classes to watch soon.

We are looking forward to the challenges and opportunities that our final term at St. Peter’s R.C. Primary has to offer. This is an important term and we will be focusing on transition, ensuring we are fully prepared to move on to our new academies after the summer break!
We hope you all have a wonderful Easter!
