P2 2021-2022

Term 4 with Primary 2!

Primary 2 have had a very busy start to Term 4. Here are some of the exciting activities we have been doing this term so far.

IDL – Under the Sea

In our Context for Learning, we have been learning about ‘Our Natural World’ with a focus on ‘Under the Sea’. We have been learning about animals that live in the ocean and their habitats, life cycle of some sea animals, the coral reef and floating and sinking. We even went outside to see if Primary 2 were as long as the biggest Blue Whale which is 30 metres! We were very lucky to have a trip to Macduff Aquarium which we loved. We made a floor book to share with other classes and also enjoyed what other classes had been learning about as part of ‘Our Natural World’. We also took part in a litter pick and a Biodiversity workshop and really enjoyed Earth Day where we made promises and art from natural resources.

Numeracy

In numeracy we have been learning about Data Handling. We created a whole class pictograph on how we get to school. We also learned how to do tally marks and create our own bar graphs. We can all now read information on a bar graph! We have enjoyed making Venn Diagrams using materials. We will be learning about measurement for next few weeks which we are looking forward to.

Literacy

In literacy we continue to engage in a range of written, active and digital technology to learn new sounds each week. For writing we have linked it to our Context for learning and have been writing Acrostic Poems about sea animals.

We are looking forward to sharing more updates with you soon, thank you from Primary 2!
