Week beginning 12th September 2022 the whole school took part in collecting non-perishable foods, such as canned goods and dried fruit, in other words all the food that have a long shelf life and don’t require refrigeration to keep them from spoiling.
12 of the Best Non-Perishable Foods
- Dried and canned beans.
- Biscuits.
- Dried fruits and vegetables.
- Canned fish and poultry.
- Nuts and seeds.
- Grains.
- Canned vegetables and fruits.
Prior to starting our collection we made posters to remind the whole school when, and what families can donate.
We also wrote letters to invite families to take part in school’s food collection.
We invited Evan from the Instant Neigbour to take part in our school assembly to tell us more about the role food banks play in helping others. If you would like to get involved in helping others here is a link to Instant Neighbour’s website.
Our food collection was very successful. We would like to thank our school community for their amazing support. We were overwhelmed by the amount of donations that arrived at school.
Thank you for your support everyone.
