Primary 1 News
Primary 1 had a very busy end to Term 1, we enjoyed a very fun Maths Week where we weighed and baked cakes for our Macmillan Coffee Morning. We really enjoyed concluding out topic of ‘People Who Help Us’ where we learned all about police, firefighters and nurses and doctors and loved being doctors in our teddy bear hospital. In Numeracy we were looking at numbers before and after and adding one more and one less. We continued to practice our literacy skills by blending words using our Fred Fingers!
We have had a very fun start to term 2. We loved our Autumn Disco and Fire Engine visit in the first week! Our topic for this month is ‘Our Mythical World’ where we are looking at fairytales. So far we have been enjoying The Gingerbread Man and The Three Little Pigs and we have been receiving letters from Sparky the Dragon from Fairyland! We can’t wait to see what fairytales we will be reading next.
In Numeracy we are learning to add and subtract this term and will also be learning about Shape. We loved making fish and keys when we learned about Saint Peter and will also be learning about some other Saints in the next couple weeks.
We made a beautiful Poppy Display for Remembrance Day.
We look forward to updating you soon with more news!
