IDL
Inventors and Inventions.

The children worked in cooperative groups of their own choosing for during this IDL topic. They were given a range of jobs and had to come up with an idea of an invention which would make that job easier for people. The children had to create posters of each invention and present their poster to the rest of the class. One invention from each group was then chosen to be made from recycled materials. During writing lessons, the children wrote instructions for how to build and work their inventions. The inventions that were created were; The Campervan classroom – teachers can transport their class anywhere in the world, past or present, for a class trip. The Pizza robot – Chefs can use the robot to instantly create amazing pizzas which the robot then transports to the delivery address. The fire plane – firefighters use the plane to pour water over forest fires. The Police teleporter – Police officers can instantly teleport to the location of a crime, arrest the criminal and teleport them back to jail. The Robot Doctor – The doctor uses the robot to scan someone to find out what it wrong with them. The robot doctor also treats the patient instantly too.
The children voted for their favourite out of all the inventions. The teams for the top three inventions (campervan classroom, police teleporter and robot doctor) had to present their inventions to Mr Sturrock and the house captains. The winning team from P2 was the Robot doctor!

St Peter’s Arts festival
The children have been very busy practising for the Nativity performance. All their hard work paid off as they did an amazing job singing the songs and doing the actions. The children also created their own stars which were featured on the backdrop of the stage.
The class are also learning to play musical instruments for a special song that will be shared with parents via a special card online at the end of term.
