P7 2024-2025

Term 2 in Primary 7

Primary 7 started the new term off by preparing a Remembrance Day assembly for the whole school and parents.

We Will Remember

We have a very busy term ahead of us. Please see the details below!

Numeracy

In Numeracy we will be learning more about Negative Numbers. We will be using our understanding of how the number line extends to include numbers less than zero and will investigate how these numbers occur and are used in real life contexts.

We will also be extending our learning on money, comparing costs to determine affordability, learning more about profit and loss, and understanding the benefits and risks of using bank and credit cards to purchase goods.

Literacy

We will continue to read for enjoyment and to improve our fluency and comprehension when reading together. We will use taught writing opportunities to make advertisements for our panto performance in December. We will also be using our IDL context for learning ‘Our World of Work’ for writing opportunities such as – recounts, diary entries and persuasive letters. Spelling and grammar lessons will also take place on a weekly basis.

Context For Learning

This term we will complete  ‘Our Future World’ context for learning and were delighted to go to the Science Centre as a school trip. We also have the opportunity to learn more about our own skills, when learning about ‘Our World of Work.’ We are looking forward to learning about what our families do for jobs and also look forward to our careers day, when people from different professions will be telling us all about their roles.

Hood Winked

We will be extremely busy getting prepared to perform our annual school pantomime. This year our Primary 7 class, along with help from P4 – P6, will be performing in Hood Winked. We will be learning lines, singing, making props and learning how to project our voices, to name but a few, in preparation for the big performance. We hope that you will all be able to come and see us on the big day!
