Our Cultural Scotland in P5- IDL summary

This term we enjoyed learning about Scotland. We spoke about Scotland’s place in the world, Scottish traditions, language and Scottish artists. We created art inspired by Scottish artists such as Charles Rennie  Mackintosh and  “Jolomo” (John Lowrie  Morrison). We created an art gallery presenting our artwork which also included Scottish landscapes and famous landmarks.

During literacy lessons we wrote poems about Scotland and poems using Scots language. We also created imaginative stories which were set in Scotland and translated poems from Scots language to English.

We create various art pieces and prepared songs, music and poems for Scottish competitions. Congratulations to all the learners who took part and to the winners.

We enjoyed presenting our learning during an open afternoon to our families and during the school’s ceilidh.
