P2 End of Term 3

This term we have done lots of exciting things. We have visited St Machar Cathedral and the Tillydrone Library. We learned about the 1960’s during our IDL topic and different trips that we partook in. We focused on Estimation and Rounding, Time, money and multiplication/division during numeracy. We looked at Scottish Dancing, gymnastics and tennis during our PE sessions.

Next term we will focus on fractions, data handling and measurement in numeracy. Our science topic will be body systems and cells focusing on the senses, skeletal system, organs and how to keep ourselves protected from common colds and flu’s. Our IDL topic will focus on ‘under the sea’ for ‘Our Natural World’ topic. We will look at where the different oceans and seas are in the world, what animals live there and how we can help protect our seas. Then we will move onto ‘Our Healthy World’. Read, Write, Inc. will continue as normal with some children moving groups. Our Health and Wellbeing focus this term is ‘Active’, we will look at the Eatwell plate to see what food our body needs to fuel it for exercise. As well as developing an understanding of how we can keep our bodies healthy.

We have a very exciting trip planned to the Transport museum to link with our previous ‘Grannies Attic topic’.
