Term 3 in Primary 3/4
This term has been very busy for primary 3/ 4. We had some children prepare for their reconciliation. They went to St Peter’s church to make their first confession. Some P4 pupils have been busy preparing for their first holy communion.
Literacy
In literacy we have been focusing on our class novel ‘How to train your dragon’. We have been loving using comprehension skills to help us predict, summarise and explain different features of the text.
We have completed lots of writing about vikings using information we have learned in our topic.
Numeracy
This term we first focussed on subtraction and different methods we can use to help us solve subtraction problems. We then moved onto time where we used many different concrete approaches to help us. The term ended with the shape topic which we looked at the properties of 2D and 3D shape.
IDL
We started this term with ‘Our Cultural Scotland’. We enjoyed learning all about Scotland’s history and making up our own clan badges and mottos. We had so much fun learning traditional Scottish dances and performing them in our school ceilidh.
We then moved on to ‘Our Historical Scotland’ where our focus was vikings. We learned all about viking life.
We are looking forward to the holidays and can’t wait to start back for term 4!
