Term 3 in Primary 5/6

We are really looking forward to term 3 of Primary 5/6.

Numeracy:

This term we will be looking at fractions, decimals and percentages. We will then move onto data handling finishing off with starting time which will take us into term 4. Every Friday we will also have a problem solving lesson helping to consolidate our knowledge. 

Literacy:

This year we are continuing the CYPIC approach to writing. We have already reached the 100% club for both vocabulary and connectives. We are now focusing on Openers. Through CYPIC we will be focussing on many different genres of text, which will like through our IDL topics.. We will continue to focus on spelling and reading fluency through using Big Cat and Book Detective. 

IDL:

We have a busy term ahead looking at ‘Our Global World’ looking at both Scotland and Africa. We enjoyed our ceilidh and then learned all about African culture during African week. Afterwards we will move onto ‘Our Spiritual World’ where we will look at Judaism. 

Other Information:

We will continue our sports coaching session on Tuesdays. A PE session will also be completed on Wednesday morning. Please ensure children wear appropriate footwear for this. On Fridays we will have a music session with Mr Horton. 

We look forward to a busy and exciting term.
