Start of Term 4 – P1/2

We are now into our 4th and final term of P1/2. We still have lots of exciting learning experiences to take part in, as well as our class assembly, school show and Sports Day!
Literacy
We will be continuing to use Read Write Inc. to support our reading and writing. Some of us will get book bags home each week so please engage with the materials and return every Friday. Please also engage with the homework assigned weekly on Google Classroom and www.oxfordowl.co.uk. Mrs Binkowicz will covering taught writing lessons. We will also look at wider reading skills, such as visualisation and prediction this term.
Numeracy
In numeracy this term we will be covering time. Throughout this topic, we will cover days of the week, months, and seasons. We will then move on to o’clock and half past on analogue and digital clocks. Some of us will then be extended to look at quarter past. In the second half of the term we will then go back to looking at number concepts; estimation, rounding, doubling/halving and number bonds. With Mrs Binkowicz, we will do fractions, recap data handling concepts and skip counting. Maths homework can be accessed at www.mymaths.co.uk
Health and Wellbeing
In P.E, we will be working on skills to support with team ball games like rounders, and our sports day activities. Mrs O’Sullivan will be taking the class for class Health and Wellbeing lessons, covering the SHANARRI indicator of ‘Active’. P.E days are on Monday and Thursday.
