Maths:  We have already started our new topic on time. We have been revising the order of the months and seasons. Last week we talked about why we need calendars and how we use them. This week we are looking at the different language associated with time. In the coming weeks we will be recognising different times on analogue and digital clocks; this will include quarter past and quarter to. We will also read, interpret and create timetables to help us plan our time

O’ Clock and Half Past Game This game will help your child revise o’ clock and half past. We will also be looking at quarter past and quarter to the hour.

Topic: Our new topic is the famous childrens’ author Dr Seuss. We are looking forward to reading many of his stories! These books will provide the basis for some fantastic learning opportunities including deforestation and caring for our planet using ‘The Lorax’ and exploring some issues such as trust and responsibility in ‘The Cat in the Hat’. The children will also be provided with opportunities for creative writing and to explore his stories through the expressive arts.

This link will take you to Seusville! Here you can find out facts about the author himself, meet some of his characters or have a look at his stories! Click to visit Seussville!

Reminders: We have now have gym on Wednesday mornings with Mrs Armstrong. Please remember to bring gym kit. Homework is handed out every Wednesday and is handed back in on a Monday.

Thank you for all your continued support. I look forward to meeting you at our upcoming parents evening.
