Exciting things happening in P1Blue

This week in class we have been consolidating the sounds, r,m,d,e,c,k. The children have made some lovely crafts which begin with these letters.We are going on to learn the sounds, g and l.
We have been lucky enough to be invited to the Scottish Children’s Book Awards, where we will meet the shortlisted Authors and hear their stories. We are very excited!

In Maths we are learning how to add numbers to 10. We have a great new number mat which is helping us count all the way up to 20.
Next week we are going to start looking at 2D shape. I wonder where we will see these shapes in the classroom?

Our topic this term is ‘The Forest’. We have been learning about the Gruffalo and all the animals which live in the Forest with him. As part of our topic we have planned a visit to Cruickshank’s Botanical Garden on 18th November, where we will learn more about the outdoors and the animals that live there.
