What’s happening in school this week? 18th – 22nd January

Enrolment of new P1 pupils who wish to start in August 2016. Parents are welcome to collect forms from the office. Please bring your child’s birth certificate, baptism certificate and proof of address.

We have student teachers in three classes – Miss Ross in P5, Mr Melville in P6 and Miss Perviz in P7. They are taking increasing responsibility for the children’s learning during this block which lasts until Friday 29th January.

Mon 18th January

  • We have a special guest in school. Andy McKechnie from Jammin’ Fitness will lead an assembly for all and then run workshops for classes helping us to develop as a Rights Respecting School. It is Martin Luther King Day and children will develop some understanding of Martin Luther King’s values, actions and legacy.
  • PE lessons with Mrs Armstrong – P1 blue, P1 red, P2 blue, P2 red, P4 and P4/5. Children will be outside, wearing jackets and practising playground games.
  • 3.15 – 4.15pm Active Schools run Basketball Club for the children in P5 – P7 who have registered.
  • P5 – P7 pupils who are interested in football should wait for information via Groupcall about when the training sessions will start.

Tues 19th January

  • New carpets are being laid in P5 and P4/5. The children who usually learn in annexe classrooms will be using P6 and P7 classrooms and the hall.
  • P6 and P7 children are out on a trip to AbSafe at Bridge of Don. They will need to take packed lunches.
  • P3 blue swimming lessons. They are walking to and from Aberdeen Aquatics Centre so please make sure they have warm coats and sensible shoes. It is helpful if the girls wear socks rather than tights please. Each child needs a swimming costume or trunks and a towel.
  • Calligraphy lessons for P3 – P7.
  • 3.15 – 4.15pm Active Schools run the Multi-Activity Club for the children in P1 – P3 who have registered.
  • 3.15 – 4.15pm  Mrs Jadid runs the Science Club for the children in P5 – P7 who have registered.
  • 3.30pm   Parent Council meeting

Wednesday 20th January

  • Mrs Duncan teaches P2 red today and every Wednesday.
  • The carpet laying team should complete the refurbishment of the annexe classrooms today.
  • P5 have their Philosophy lesson at Aberdeen University.
  • PE lessons with Mrs Armstrong for all P3 pupils, P5, P6 and P7. Children will be outside, wearing jackets and practising playground games.
  • P7 children are due to have their “Last Class” photo taken by the Evening Express photographer.

Thursday 21st January

  • Mrs Bain teaches P6 and Miss McLoughlin teaches P3 red today and every Thursday.
  • German lessons for P6 and P7.
  • Drama lessons with Mr Horabin for all P1, all P2, P4/5, P4 and P5.
  • 3.30 – 4.30pm Active Schools run the Dance Club for the children in P1 – P3 who have registered.

Friday 22nd January

  • Mrs Duncan teaches P4 today and every Friday.
  • Prefects’ meeting today at 11.45am.
  • There will be an assembly for P4 – P7 where we will look at the United Nation’s Global Goals.
