7th – 11th March. What’s happening in school this week?

CONGRATULATIONS to P6 pupils who won the Aberdeen heat of the Euroquiz on Friday and to P7 pupils who won the St Machar ASG heat of the Rotary Club Quiz on Tuesday. We are very proud of everyone in the team and of all their classmates who helped them to prepare. Many thanks to all the parents and Mrs Bain, Miss McLoughlin and Mr McFadden for their encouragement and guidance.

SCIAF
We have collected £303.27 so far for SCIAF. This has been raised through donations to the Wee Boxes and through money collected on World Book Day when we saw some fabulous costumes. Many thanks for your generosity. We are aiming to raise £1000 during Lent!!
There are student teachers working alongside our staff in P1 blue, P3 blue and P3 red. We welcome Miss Healy, Miss McCann and Mr Macdonald.

Monday 7th March

  • Bike checks for tomorrow’s Bikeability training.
  • PE lessons with Mrs Armstrong –  P2 blue, P2 red, P4/5, P5 & P7.
  • 3.15 – 4.15pm Active Schools run Basketball Club for the children in P5 – P7 who have registered.
  • 5.30 – 6.30pm Football training at St Machar Academy for P5 – P7 pupils who have registered.

Tuesday 8th March

  • P6 have a trip today. They will follow a Victorian trail around Aberdeen and then visit the Maritime Museum to learn about Victorians at work and play.Parent helpers are very welcome.
  • We are due to have a new carpet put down in the P3 red classroom and so P3 red will use the P6 classroom today.
  • Mr Sutherland (brass teacher) will come on Friday instead of today.
  • P7 Bikeability training.
  • 3.15 – 4.15pm Active Schools run the Multi-Activity Club for the children in P1 – P3 who have registered.
  • 3.15 – 4.15pm  Mrs Jadid runs the Science Club for the children in P5 – P7 who have registered.

Wednesday 9th March

  • St Machar senior pupils coach our P6 pupils in badminton today.
  • P5 and P7 pupils have trips to ASV for racket sports. Parent helpers are very welcome.
  • Students from Aberdeen University run a Teddy Bear Hospital for both P1 classes.
  • PE lessons with Mrs Armstrong for all P1 pupils, P3 pupils, P4 and P6.

Thursday 10th March

  • Children from P5, P6 and P7 will be representing our school at the Open Cross Country Championships on Friday 18th March. Mr McFadden and Mr O’Neill are arranging training sessions on Thursdays. Pupils need to bring tracksuits and trainers to participate please.
  • 3.30 – 4.30pm Active Schools run the Dance Club for the children in P5 – P7 who have registered.

Friday 11th March

  • All orders and payments for class photos need to be returned by today please. If you have any questions, please contact the office. Please note that the desktop acrylic is very small and so you need to check your order carefully.
  • P5 are organising a ‘Disney Fun Day’ and pupils can add a handmade Disney prop to their uniform for a donation to SCIAF. Our P5 pupils will also be selling puzzles and colouring sheets. In Assembly, they will teach us a lovely song.
  • Mr Sutherland, brass teacher, will be in school today instead of Tuesday.
