Rights Respecting Schools Award

At St Peter’s, we try hard to embed children’s rights in our ethos and culture to improve well-being and develop every child’s talents and abilities to their full potential. We help children to learn about the rights of all children under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. Click here for a child friendly version of those rights.

The first step of our journey is the Recognition of Commitment. Miss Corby is leading this process and is bringing together a steering group of pupils and adults. Any parents who are interested in becoming part of this group are encouraged to contact Miss Corby or Mrs Martin at stpeters@aberdeencity.gov.uk

We have carried out a baseline audit, gathering the views of pupils and adults, and all our school community is committed to becoming a Rights Respecting School.

Each class has established a charter and we have all been learning about our rights.

Check out the wonderful work we have been doing on our charters.
