P7 News September 16th 2014
It has been a busy start to the school year for P7 and everyone has made a positive start to their final year in primary school.
Our topic for the first term is Energy and the boys and girls have already started doing great research into the different types of energy and how we are surrounded by it every day.
We have based much of our writing around our topic work and last week completed a newspaper report based upon our Energy topic with some great articles being written.
The children have used accelerated reader in school as part of their reading development and will be able to check these books out of school to take home in the next few days. We ask that the checked out books are brought back to school every day for use in class.
P7 have been taking part in swimming lessons at the Sports Village on Tuesday mornings . This is an amazing opportunity for the children to make use of the brand new facilities on offer at the Sports Village. They also took part in a table tennis taster session which everyone really enjoyed.
In maths we are studying measurement at the moment. This topic has enabled the children to take part in lots of active maths activities and they have shown a real positive attitude throughout.
