A big hello from all the boys and girls in Primary 6. We have had a very busy month! For the last few weeks in maths we have been learning about fractions. We have covered areas such as finding equal fractions, simplifying fractions and comparing fractions.
Our writing lessons have been based on our topic, writing up some yummy recipes from around Europe alongside writing letters comparing life in Scotland to different countries across Europe.
We were very lucky to have a class trip to not one, but TWO special events! First we went as a class to the Aberdeen Biodiversity Centre in the University. The focus of the trip was sea birds, in particular puffins. We all really enjoyed this part of the trip and took lots of pictures of the different kinds of sea birds from across the world
.
Next we went to Elphinstone Hall in Aberdeen University to enjoy the first anniversary celebration of the Confucius Institute. We sampled some Chinese cuisine and made some Chinese lanterns. To finish the day we attended a fashion show, with models of all ages wearing clothes that showed how Chinese fashion has changed over the centuries. We all had a lovely day

Alongside swimming lessons on a Tuesday, we now have P.E. with Mrs Armstrong every Wednesday. We are a very active class. We are exploring the techniques and skills of uni-hoc including changing our speed and how to attack our opponents. We are enjoying learning about this new sport.
On Tuesday afternoons we have Mrs Croxon for art. At the moment, we are using various resources to create pictures of our favourite scenes in Aberdeen. We are looking forward to a visit from Gas de France staff who may be displaying our pictures in their new office. We cannot wait to post some of the finished results on the school website.
