P7 2019Uncategorized

Welcome to Term 2 Primary 7

Welcome back to a very exciting term for Primary 7’s with Panto roles assigned and all set to run a social enterprise and lots of learning too. We will be busy for sure.

We welcome Mrs Morrison who is working with us for the fisrt 4 weeks of term. She has lots of fun and inspiring lessons.

Literacy

This term we will continue to work on our reading strategies using different texts. We are all reading books within our reading groups and have an Accelerated Reader for reading for pleasure.  We hope that some of our articles are chosen for Chalk Talk newspaper as we will write about some of the fun learning we have done in P7. We will also learn about and write an autobiography and learn the difference between an autobiography and a biography.

Outdoor Learning

We have already worked on creating a stick character and used this stimulus for writing about the character we created. Well done to all who worked very hard and thought about the characteristics that their stick creature had.

Maths

This term we are working on co-ordinates, negative numbers and also continuing with our mental maths. There are always some games online on our class section of Education City for you to access and get more practice at home.

Topic

We have a visitor on Tuesday 12th November who is going to introduce our topic which is Social Enterprise.  We will learn a little about business plans and the world of work. During this term, we hope to set up our own Social Enterprise. We will decide how we can make an impact in the school community and also possibly in the wider environment. I look forward to this visit and hope that we all have our creative and thinking skills with us on that day.  We will then aim to launch and sell our Social Enterprise at the School Fayre.

P7 Panto

Primary 7 have a very busy term ahead with Panto practice, learning lines and actions, creating the backdrop for the panto and advertising posters. We hope that you can all put the date in your diaries and come along to see our version on Tuesday 17th December at 1.30pm.
