P1R 2021-2022

Term 3 News from P1R

We have had a very busy month of February and March is also looking busy with lots of fun learning activities happening in school. Here are some photos of what we have been getting up to.

We enjoyed the February Active Adventure Friday that was organised by the P7 leaders, we went to all the activities and had lots of fun in the garden doing the scavenger hunt, games in the PE hall, corner football outside in the rads area and also some relay games outdoors. We also made some bubble wands with our class and blew bubbles in the sunshine.

We also welcomed Mr Nichol to our class and he will work with us until Easter holidays and then return for 4 weeks after the holidays too as part of his student placement for Aberdeen University. We have been showing him how good P1R are and are enjoying his lessons so far.

In Maths we have been learning about Money, we are now able to recognise the coins, can give change and add up using the coins. We have made a play shop in our Home Corner in the classroom to help us learn a little bit more.

We also celebrated World Book Day by dressing up as our favourite book character and took part in all the activities in school such as a story and draw along with an author, we made bookmarks, story trail in the corridor and the book swap shop where we all got to take home a book to enjoy. Thank you to P4 for their help in the book shop!

Our IDL topic this term is Our Historical Scotland and we are learning about Old Aberdeen. We have learned about the streets, houses, shops and how people lived in the past through looking at old items from the home. We enjoyed a walking tour with Mrs Craig telling us all about the old streets and landmarks. We also enjoyed creating our own craft versions of some of the main landmarks that are around Old Aberdeen in pairs. We also designed our own houses and shop fronts too. Have a look at the photos below! You can also learn more on our Google Classroom by visiting our Virtual Museum which we will update as we learn more about Old Aberdeen!

We hope you enjoy looking at our photos and check back again soon for more updates on our fun learning in P1R!

Thank you,

Miss Rynne and P1R
