P7 2022-2023

P7 Term 2 News

It has been a jam packed term for the Primary 7’s. Here is some of things we got up to!

Contexts for learning
We loved our “Fractured fairytales” context for learning. It led itself to a variety of literacy and expressive arts activities which we really enjoyed!
Wider achievements
Two pupils represented our school in working with the council to share their ideas for how to development Aberdeen beachfront. Lots of new leaves were added to our achievement tree to celebrate achievements outside of school!
Pupil Voice
Our RADS leaders went to a special workshop to learn more about their role as RADS leaders and how to support the younger classes during RADS.
The house captains supported Mrs Bain in raising money for Children in need, playing pudsey themed bingo with every class and giving the opportunity for Pudsey selfies with cool props.
The whole class made Christmas decorations to sell at the Christmas fayre. Some of us helped with the hamper and tombola prizes too. This year’s fayre was a huge success.
We had two winners from the JRSO design a t shirt competition which was a great achievement.

School Experiences

We got to visit Tillydrone library this term which encouraged lots of us to join of local library!

We celebrated Catholic Education week, learning about this year’s theme of communion, participation and mission.

We created our own Advent wreath and have been learning more about Advent, particularly focusing on Mary’s role within Advent.

We said goodbye to Mr Campbell who had worked in St Peter’s school for over 20 years! He will be missed by staff and pupils!

We have been getting into the Christmas spirit with our school Christmas lunch. We wore Christmas jumpers and had some traditional Christmas food on the menu.

We loved performing “Aladdin Trouble” to parents and families. After months of preparation it was great to see it all come together! Thanks to Mrs Bain for all her support and Mrs McKinlay for the scenery and props, we couldn’t have done it without you!

Wishing you all a very happy Christmas!
